The Greenfield Intercultural Center (GIC) is a space for experiential intercultural learning for all students interested in developing leadership with the goal of building diverse life affirming communities and institutions. At the GIC we enjoy community meals and fellowship in our backyard and patio. You are invited to join our GIC Virtual Patio Series chat with current Native, First-Gen Lower-Income (FGLI), International FGLI, and DACAmented/Undocumented students who will share how they navigate Penn. First-Gen, Lower-Income (FGLI) Wednesday, July 15, 2020 | 8:30-9:30 p.m. EDT https://bluejeans.com/9455996635 This student-led patio chat will focus on the First-Generation Lower-Income (FGLI) experience at Penn. Student facilitators will share how they got to Penn, how they navigate Penn, what communities are in place to support them, and help answer any questions incoming students may have. Building an Intercultural Community of Support for Undocumented & DACAmented Penn Students Thursday, July 22, 2020 | 8:30-10:30 EDT We want to invite undocumented students, with or without DACA, and their families, to join us for a virtual event. This conversation will focus on connecting undocumented students of the Class of 2024 to resources and opportunities, as well as do our best to answer any questions you or your family may have. This event is only for those individuals who are undocumented, and their families. If you are an aspiring ally for immigrant communities, an international student, or a U.S. citizen in a mixed-status family, we are also here for you and will have programming that specifically address your needs and experiences in the near future. IFGLI students facilitators will discuss the unique set of challenges iFGLI students face and offer some words of wisdom to incoming iFGLI students.
