On Friday, May 1, 2020, GIC and Penn First Plus Alumni co-hosted a live discussion on BlueJeans moderated by current students Louis Lin C’20 and Sam Arizpe W’20 . Two First-Generation Low-Income (FGLI) alumni were invited to speak about their experiences: LaRhonda Brown-Barrett ENG’89 and Ben Huynh W'14. They shared their careers and lessons they've learned along the way regarding how to pivot. You can read more about their bios in this previous blog post. The event was well-attended and well-received from students, staff, and alumni. We had 34 participants on the conference call. Penn FLASH is an extended family network for FGLI students to share knowledge with each other. In case you missed the event, GIC recorded the talk!
