Last week, a new Learning-From Address type was moved into Penn InTouch and SRS, becoming available for student use and staff reporting from the Data Warehouse. This new address will be used by faculty and staff to better understand student location for the fall 2020 and future terms. Included in this document are brief summaries of the following aspects of the new Learning-From Address: Penn InTouch Address Menu – what students will see DRAFT email to all students – socializing the Learning-From Address update requirements Courses InTouch Class Roster (Detail View) - what faculty will see Reporting the Learning-From Address from the Data Warehouse Each year in August and January, we require all students to review their address and contact information in Penn InTouch. With students studying from locations across the globe this fall, timely and accurate student address information is more important than ever. More details can be found below in the all-student email included here. We will activate the address verification/update requirement, it will block all students, both new and returning, from seeing any Penn InTouch information until they verify or update their address and contact information. The Learning-From Address was made available to all students in Penn InTouch on August 12, 2020. Below is a screenshot of what students see on the Learning-From Address tab.
Reporting the Learning-From Address from the Data Warehouse
The Learning-From Address is indicated as Address_Type = “T” in the Data Warehouse’s ADDRESS table. If choosing to use the Current Address (Address_Type = C in the ADDRESS table) in reporting, it will be calculated as follows:
